What the job is:

The Prepress On-Site Account Manager is responsible for all aspects of the account team, as it relates to leadership in daily account activities, and the deliverables for all of the team's accounts. This includes but is not limited to, the developing of workflows, project management, problem solving internally, problem solving with the client, maintaining the daily production schedules, ensuring all client expectations are being met or exceeded, quality control of project files for completion, clarity, and accuracy. The Prepress On-Site Account Manager is We Are Alexander's eyes and ears within the client office and keeps the rest of the team informed of new opportunities and client pain points. The Prepress On-Site Account Manager works in collaboration with the teams' Junior Account Manager, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and also supports the Group Directors.

Essential Functions:

  • Strong project management experience to understand what's needed, lead and drive projects to completion in a timely manner and within budget. Project Management abilities include (but not limited to):
  • Ability to prioritize, manage project status, key issues and next steps.
  • Able to understand when a decision is made and to set in place necessary steps to execute.
  • Ability to keep team informed and pull in necessary stakeholders as needed with cross functional teams (Brand management, Innovation, Packaging/Procurement, Graphics, Regulatory, Legal, etc.)
  • Provide quality control across multiple SKUs and projects.
  • Provide clarity and direction to keep project moving.
  • Strong leadership to lead and facilitate seamless interaction with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team and cross functional partners to ensure clarity and visibility into key project decisions and milestones and to follow through with decisions that are made.
  • Problem solver and strategic partner; able to understand client needs and work with client to develop solutions; able to pull in resources from St. Louis as needed.

  • Establish daily contact and build relationship with the client.
  • Report information regarding account status, customer relation issues and general information
  • Take lead role with new US and International account information (new printers, new projects, new workflows, etc.) and share with the team.
  • Assist in quoting, invoicing and billing as directed.
  • Be the onsite Subject-Matter Expert for pre-media.
  • Take lead role with color management responsibilities, as needed or required.
  • Identify any internal/external issues or concerns and recommend solutions to the client and team.
  • When requested, contribute to the financial management of accounts, as it relates to invoicing, billing, and VPH (Value Per Hour).
  • Attend all meetings as assigned or requested with management, internal team and clients.
  • Proactively look for enhancements, opportunities, and efficiencies to bring to the team.
  • Investigate new project opportunities as brought forth by the client.
  • Create presentation materials/information when necessary for internal teams as well as the client.
  • Assume complete 'Ownership' of account(s) from project inception to completion within the team.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • 8+ years experience in managing people and/or in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic communication or marketing preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience in graphics related field.
  • Previous experience managing employees and setting clear expectations.
  • Expertise in the fundamentals of Prepress as it relates to production and printing.
  • Familiarity of the technical language used in Prepress, Printing, and Marketing.
  • MAC Proficiency and working experience in Microsoft Office suites (Excel, Word, etc.) and Photoshop/ai files.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in client-facing role.
  • Excellent problem solving skills within the team and with the client.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong internal and external verbal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills for creation of client presentations, client reports, memos, etc.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to have courageous conversations with team members and the client if necessary.
