The Walsh Group is seeking a Preconstruction Manager for the LaGuardia Airport Project located in New York, NY.

The Preconstruction Manager for the Interface Team will support the LaGuardia Central Terminal Building Replacement Project in the coordination with other major projects underway at the LaGuardia Airport site. The Preconstruction Manager will be the primary point of contact with other projects such as the LaGuardia Delta Terminal Redevelopment and LaGuardia AirTrain project. The Preconstruction Manager will initially serve to coordinate design and schedules between the LaGuardia CTB Replacement Project and other projects on site. The Preconstruction Manager could transition into an operations role responsible for managing scopes of work undertaken by SWJV to enable or coordinate with other projects.

  • Review project plans, requirements and specifications
  • Evaluate project logistics and project schedule
  • Interface and coordinate with leaders of other project teams
  • Identify conflicts between projects and develop workaround solutions
  • Analyze and prepare scope, price, and schedule impacts for change order proposal submissions
  • Assess and manage project interface risks


  • BS Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10 - 20years of experience as a Project Manager and/or Estimator
  • Extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles
  • Estimating experience with large transportation or heavy civil projects
  • Ability to lead teams of varying sizes and skill sets
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills
  • Advanced computer skills with estimating software, MS Office, and Primavera (P6)
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment
