Position: 2635 Preclinical (Animal Phase) Account Manager CA
Location: San Diego, CA
Description: Our client, a leading and successful US player in the pre-clinical research arena, is seeking a pre-clinical Account Manager, responsible for customers in Southern CA - Los Angeles to San Diego. Ideal candidate will have experience in pre-clinical research / Biopharma / CROs, and a proven track record of building successful relationships with with biomedical, academic and pharmaceutical partners. It is also essential the Account Manager live in the San Diego/Los Angeles area, and must have established client relationships in Southern California. They will not relocate or consider people not living in this corridor.
Please note the compensation is based on base + commission - the base is ~ $90 to 105K - there is a lucrative commission structure on top of this.
OUTLINE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - As account manager, you will be expected to help preclinical research clients grow, and increase their need for company services and research animals (mice, mouse models, others). - Territory and strategic management, with a focus on revenue. - Work with pharmaceutical, academic, and biomedical partners. - Developing and nurturing the relationship between the company and its new and existing customers to ensure the company is a highly valued partner and provider of solutions. - Actively managing an evolving pipeline and impacting deal closure. - Meeting or exceeding established territory revenue targets.
REQUIREMENTS: - Must be living in the San Diego to Los Angeles corridor. - BS/MS Life or Animal Sciences. - Successful BioMedical / Biopharma / CRO Sales experience, best if including preclinical (animal model) CRO background. - In Vivo sales/services experience is strongly preferred. - Able to illustrate how they cultivate relationships and provide consultative support and solutions. - >5 years' progressive direct biomedical or animal science sales plus field management experience. - Excellent consultative selling skills and a proven capability to close technical sales in pre-clinical settings. - Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. - Driver's license and free to travel up to 60%.
ESSENTIALS: Candidates must reside in the state of California in the greater San Diego or Los Angeles areas. Minimum of 3 years' Preclinical sales experiencerequired, preferably in the Biopharma / Services / CRO sector. Need basic understanding of the drug development process at Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies.
