Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Materials Lead for designated Projects for Material Selection and Corrosion Control.
  • Responsible for all FEED & EPCI materials selection for subsea.
  • Responsible to co-ordinate applicable welding/fabrication aspects for subsea.
  • Responsible for verifying all Project upstream subsea materials selection.
  • Assess and conclude (earliest in FEED) on any identified materials related items previously captured for FEED optimization.
  • Development and writing of the Project Materials Selection Report and Material Selection Diagrams (MSD's).
  • Development and writing of all Project Materials/Corrosion Control Specifications and Reports.
  • Long Lead Equipment (LLE) - Technical definition and support.
  • CS and CRA clad & lined pipe and related components technical procurement support including sour service corrosion testing scope definition and follow-up.
  • Active participation in technical bid evaluation and design reviews.
  • Identify credible corrosion and Environmental Assisted Cracking (EAC) threats through close coordination and liaison with McDermott Corrosion SME.
  • Conduct CO2 corrosion modelling assessment work and analysis. Liaison with McDermott Corrosion SME.
  • Identify and propose corrosion mitigation & control requirements including chemical injection and coating requirements and any inhibitor qualification testing programs through close coordination and liaison with Corrosion SME.
  • Work closely with Project Welding Engineers and Engineering Managers to align on all materials and welding aspects for the Project.
  • Liaise with Senior Coatings Engineer(s) and SME to align on all coating aspects for Projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Over 12 years' experience required within the Energy Industry through all phases of EPCI project delivery.
  • Over 12 years' experience in materials selection and Corrosion Control for subsea.
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline, preferably Metallurgy or Materials Science.
  • Master's Degree in an Engineering Discipline preferably Metallurgy or Materials Science.
  • Doctorate in an Engineering Discipline preferably Metallurgy or Materials Science
