Job Description:
BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for their Endicott, NY facility. In this role you will provide Manufacturing Engineering floor support, guidance and instruction to operators in support of manufacturing. Perform manufacturing support activities using technical knowledge of generally used assembly practices ensuring the achievement of performance within cost, quality and schedule requirements. Support Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material and determination of root cause/corrective action. Perform quality audits of hardware, pFMEA’s, monitor defects, and track trends. Support/Lead factory continuous improvement activities and projects. Perform coaching, training, and qualification for operators. Ensure timely disposition of hardware and assure thorough root cause analysis of discrepant materials. Maintain assigned projects and tasks to ensure timely completion of required needs. Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Proven teamwork and leadership skills; able to work across “boundaries” with multiple functions and program teams.
 

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education:

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Customer focused
  • Metrics driven and success oriented
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma or other similar process improvement methodologies
  • Experience utilizing business systems and tools that aid in managing processes
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access)
  • Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience in the space/aerospace/defense industry
  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean/six sigma implementation projects



Preferred Skills and Education:

  • 5+ years working in Space Production manufacturing
  • Ability to design, develop and implement robust processes to ensure repeatability
  • Experience working with demanding customer
