Essential Functions

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Quantitative Imaging, Image Processing & Modeling

An immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate is available at the Department of Radiology, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

The position is for an actively funded NIH grant in cancer imaging. The successful candidate will be a member of a highly interdisciplinary lab including biologists, engineers, and imaging scientists to develop and validate advanced imaging techniques in a context of a co-clinical (preclinical and clinical) trial. The successful candidate will be engaged image processing and modeling (statistical, mathematical) of preclinical and clinical multi-modality biomedical image data (e.g. PET, MRI) with emphasis on quantitative imaging and integration of multi-scale bioanalytic data (e.g., - OMICS data). 

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a doctoral degree in medical physics, applied mathematics, computer science, bioengineering or related fields with no more than 3 years of previous postdoctoral research experience.

Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following fields is required: pattern classification, machine learning, image segmentation, image processing, multivariate statistical modeling, optimization, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics or related fields. 

The candidate should be proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., MATLAB, JAVA, c++).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical imaging is preferred but not required.
  • Evidence of research activity resulting in publications and presentations is highly desirable. 

Salary Range

The hiring range for this position is commensurate with experience.
