This posting is for a post-doctoral researcher to work in the Kummer lab in the Department of Neurology on projects related to the pathophysiology of acute brain injury, focusing mostly on cellular and molecular mechanisms and phenomenology in traumatic brain injury. Approaches will include brain injury animal models, quantitative immunohistological and microscopic analysis, molecular biology, advanced imaging including microscopy and MRI. There will also be an opportunity to work with human subjects with brain injury in the lab PIs clinical practice.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performance and presentation of research related to laboratory and personal goals.
- Supervision of more junior researchers (graduate students, technicians, undergraduates, medical students, residents).
- Lab administration.
PhD from graduate school in biology
- Histology, microscopy, and MRI experience
- Small animal experience
The hiring range for this position is commensurate with experience.
