The Department of Cell Biology & Physiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis (WUSM) is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow with experience in, and enthusiasm for, the teaching of Physiology to first year medical students. Washington University School of Medicine offers many exciting opportunities for research training and the Postdoctoral Fellow will also pursue his/her own research interests within a laboratory in the Department of Cell Biology & Physiology. Over the next few years, the School of Medicine will be moving to a new integrated foundational science curriculum, and our teaching Scholars will play important roles in this move.
The position requires a Ph.D. in Physiology or a related field and/or M.D., D.O., or equivalent.
- Preference will be given to candidates with research interests that overlap with department labs
- The successful candidate will be an active participant in medical student education under the collaborative mentorship of basic science and clinical faculty leaders.
- The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills to motivate, encourage and lead medical students in their education and exhibit a demonstrated record of success in research.
- Previous experience teaching physiology and/or in a medical school environment is desirable along with demonstrated ability to implement laboratory procedures, conduct research and records findings.
Base pay commensurate with experience.
