A postdoctoral position is available at Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) working with Dr. Chad Quarles and the Translational Bioimaging Group. The positions will primarily focus on the application of machine learning to advanced MRI/PET methods capable of interrogating tissue metabolism, molecular properties, hemodynamics, vascular architecture, oxygenation, and microstructure. Projects will be supported by multiple NIH and foundation awards.
Outstanding instrumental resources, including multiple NVIDIA AI servers, 1.5T and 3T Philips, 7T preclinical MRI, microCT, microPET and optical imaging scanners are available at the BNI. Barrow is one of the highest volume neurosurgical sites in the world with more than 8000 procedures performed annually and maintains one of the largest databases of paired brain tumor patient MRI scans, histopathology, molecular and genomic information.
Applicants should have a PhD in computer science, mathematics, bioengineering or a related discipline. Competitive candidates will have experience with machine learning, advanced image analysis (e.g. DSC/DCE, CEST, SWI, DTI) and/or multi-parametric feature analysis.
Beyond minimum required, experience writing research reports concerning own work and familiarity with a biomedical discipline preferred. Laboratory or clinical technical and/or interpersonal skills as appropriate required. Technical and/or conceptual expertise in a relevant field preferred. Familiar with basic computer, mathematical, scientific, reasoning, and oral and written communication skills as appropriate required.
