We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to the laboratory of Dr. Diane Merry in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Merry's laboratory uses cross - disciplinary approaches to study the molecular pathogenesis of an inherited neurodegenerative neuromuscular disease, spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy, caused by polyglutamine expansion within the androgen receptor protein. Newly funded projects to study the role of specific androgen receptor protein. Newly funded projects to study the role of specific androgen receptor structural/functional features, as well as the role of the androgen receptor protein interactome in disease, provide robust training and broad opportunities for productive fellowships.
Competitive candidates will have a recent PhD with experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and/or neuroscience. Excellen verbal and written communication skills are a must.
