Ports, Protocols, and Services Management Lead
When our country’s cyber security is on the line, simply reacting is not enough – we need a plan. And when that plan needs to protect our defense infrastructure, we need the validation of accreditation processes and compliance artifacts in support of government systems accreditation and management. That’s why we need you, a Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM) Lead with the expertise required to guide a team analyzing ports, protocols, and services (PPS) that determine our cyber compliance.
As a PPSM Lead, you’ll oversee staff working on the assessment of your client's current PPSM policies, the coverage of those policies, and areas of risks. You’ll assess how PPSM requests stack up to regulations, best practices, and industry standards. As you guide your client through understanding acceptable risk and availability, you’ll lead the team on the execution of PPS registry requests, DMZ Whitelist requests, and Firewall requests. You’ll work with the client to ensure they operate securely as they navigate an evolving IT environment. Join us as we monitor customer programs’ registrations in the PPSM Registry for PPSM discrepancies and support the client program and the PPSM TAG Representative through the PPSM resolution process, to include processing PPSM Component Local Service Assessments (CLSA), Further Action (FA) requests, Non-Standard Boundary and Port Exception requests, and Banned Services Exception requests.
You will also assess vulnerabilities and appropriate implementation strategies for use of protocols and services and their associated ports. In securing critical infrastructure, you will use the Category Assurance List (CAL) as the authoritative source for ports, protocols, services, network environments, and boundary combinations. You will also perform technical reviews of new and existing PPSM and provide assessments for boundary protection improvements.
