The Portfolio Strategist - Internal partners with Wealth associates on the development and retention of investment clients. The Strategist is responsible for serving as the investment specialist, with an emphasis on high net worth investment management clients. The Strategist will function as the liaison between the Capital Management Group (CMG) and clients. The Strategist will work with clients on investment policy development, asset allocation, manager structure, and performance analysis and reporting. The Strategist may serve as a primary contact for client inquiries; review meetings, proactive and preemptive contact, and will have knowledge of decision makers and other key members of the client relationship. The Strategist will generally follow the lead of other designated team members serving in the relationship manager role. The Strategist may partner with Client Advisors, Fiduciary Officers, Private Bankers and other First Citizens Wealth associates on new business opportunities with existing clients and prospects. The role is primarily focused on providing client services from an internal team environment.
?The Portfolio Strategist will serve as the non-client facing investment relationship manager, with an emphasis on selected high net worth clients. The Strategist will also partner with Wealth associates on the development of new business opportunities. The Strategist will focus primarily on the management and retention of existing clients. The Strategist will function as the liaison between the Capital Management Group and clients. They will work with clients either directly or indirectly on investment policy development, asset allocation, manager structure, and performance analysis and reporting. They will continuously analyze client portfolios, proposes changes when necessary and insure that changes are implemented.
Risk Management: Review portfolios regularly to ensure compliance with all FCB and Wealth Management policies and procedures.
The Strategist will team with Wealth associates to qualify prospects for investment opportunities and participate in joint calls on new and existing business presentations in a supportive role. These presentations will explain our investment capabilities, how they can fit the needs of the client, and suggest portfolios appropriate for the prospect's objectives. Analysis of the prospect's current investments may be necessary. The goal is to consummate the investment sale.
Proactive communication either directly or indirectly and process skills needed to ensure business model is executed as defined by firm. The strategist will be knowledgeable about all investment services provided and general knowledge of banking services to clients.
For existing clients, the Strategist will partner with Wealth associates to work with clients on their investments. The Strategists responsibilities include overseeing client portfolios, making appropriate changes when necessary, and remotely attending meetings with clients to review their portfolios.
Strategists will make presentations from time to time to Wealth associates and bankers to expand their knowledge of the Capital Management Group and its capabilities. These presentations can include training sessions on various CMG initiatives as well as presentations on CMG capabilities.
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years' experience in investment services and relationship management
High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years' experience in investment services and relationship management
CFP, CIMA, or CFA designation.
Consultative selling skills.
Strong teaming, public speaking and presentation skills are required.
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and written.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Excel) and investment applications like Envestnet, LongView, Bloomberg, Barra or Advent.
Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and independently.
Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks; flexible and self-motivated.
