This position will serve in a leadership and managerial role in all loan transactions where Cadence has the opportunity to serve in a lead arranger and administrative agency role.
Transactional experience and understanding of M&A, enterprise value, cash flow, commercial real estate, midstream energy, restaurant franchise finance, healthcare, asset-backed and builder finance transactions with both private and public ownership structures.
Pro-actively assists commercial lending teams to prospect and pitch for new lead agented loan opportunities throughout the Cadence footprint and within the bank's industry expertise. Involves preparation of marketing materials, meeting logistics and other needed information required to sell Cadence's ability and success in arranging and agenting lead loan facilities.
Responsible for review of the initial opportunity assessments, historical and projected financial performance, and requested structure from borrower in advance of initial credit meetings.
Works with Relationship Managers and clients negotiating and communicating final market clearing structures, including tenor, collateral if applicable, pricing and fees while assertively competing for new business.
Initiates contact and manages discussions with participant institutions. Acts as the primary point of contact with potential participant banks for due diligence and structuring inquiries as well as all legal documentation.
Ensure the loan syndication and sell-down process complies and follows all related Credit Policies thereby minimizing potential risk exposure to the bank.
Prepares Highly Confident Memos (HCM) to be included in any SLC credit requests or amendments where approval for a fully underwritten is being requested. Working with the commercial lender's team to ensure the HCM accurately reflects all market risks and data to support a low risk, post-close loan syndication or sell-down .
Lead the preparation of term sheets, engagement papers, marketing materials, balance sheet projections, and transactional analysis for distribution to participant banks and the line of business partners.
Primary point of contact alongside relationship manager on all matters related to partner bank approval process and responsible for coordinating the closing and funding of transactions with internal support groups, external bank partners and legal contacts.
Maintain and develop ongoing relationships with participant banks in all Cadence agented loan facilities with the intent of understanding our bank partner's appetites for new loan opportunities.
Ability to interact in a leadership/managerial level with all levels of management, work within a team environment and work independently and with lines of businesses to structure, price and market agented loan opportunities.
Proactive marketing skills to further develop and maintain external banking as well as prospective customer relationships.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access.

Thorough knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, Credit Policy, applicable laws and industry data sources.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent experience.
3 to 7 years in a combination of Commercial Lending, Credit and/or Workout positions.
Previous work experience in a finance or marketing related field desirable.
