The Portfolio Director will oversee MITRE's strategic engagement with NSA/Cybercom and is fully accountable to their cognizant officer for the successful development and execution of MITRE’s strategy to support NSA/Cybercom operations as well as working both internally, cross center and externally on relevant challenges for NSA/Cybercom. This individual will develop close working relationships with senior leaders at NSA/Cybercom and partner with other MITRE National Security Sector (MNS) Portfolio Directors and other centers’ Portfolio Directors to engage NSA/Cybercom's mission partner agencies and the broader IC community.

Our aspiration is to promote an integrated suite of technical capabilities for the sponsor. Specifically, the focus of this position will be to work across NSA/Cybercom as well as work across MNS to ensure we are providing a holistic approach to achieving identified outcomes that benefit the sponsor. The successful candidate will be required to work seamlessly with the existing Portfolio Managers (PMs), in achieving synergy on complex, sensitive challenges associated with NSA/Cybercom.

  • This individual is to become a trusted adviser to NSA/Cybercom leadership on major initiatives, policies, challenges, and priorities. This individual is accountable for the sponsor value analysis, work program value analysis, and portfolio strategy development, updating these products regularly to ensure that they are current and accurate.

  • This individual is accountable for developing and executing, through the MNS Portfolio and Program leadership teams, and to collaborate with leadership from other sponsor Portfolios, Cross-Cutting Portfolios, Program Divisions and Technical Centers to ensure that MITRE has an integrated set of portfolio strategies that will deliver customer solutions.

  • This Portfolio Director has full accountability for all aspects of MITRE’s oversight of the NSA/Cybercom. The Director establishes strategic direction based on the needs of the NSA/Cybercom, oversees the definition of the work program, and shapes the role and work to best achieve outcomes leveraging MITRE’s core capabilities. The Director assures that NSA/Cybercom receives the benefit of a consistent MITRE position and ensures that all program teams are drawing on entirety of MITRE expertise.

  • Develop, maintain, and proactively manage sponsor, and stakeholder relationships at all levels of the portfolio leadership team.

  • Define, develop, and execute the portfolio work program with objectives and outcomes addressing sponsor missions. Collaborate with Portfolio Directors and Technical Directors to address enterprise and integration issues and strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS and 10 years of related experience or MS and 7 years of related experience or PhD and 5 years of related experience
  • Advanced Technical Degree with 10+ years of related work experience. Familiarity with NSA the mission and culture.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience with sponsor engagement, influencing and shaping programs, senior leadership role that produced significant outcomes, and an ability to work across domains and teams both internally and externally to realize strategic objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS and 15 years of related experience.
