As the Senior Cloud Engineer, you will optimize and re-architect cloud environments to assist the client in their successful transitional journey into both the public cloud platform and software-as-a-service ambitions. This is a technically skilled, advanced role that requires extensive knowledge in application development, networking, data stores, infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code technologies, automated configuration management, application platforms and integrations, logging, monitoring, and AWS managed services. In this role, you will provide system administration expertise for business-critical cloud-native workloads to assure the client is secure, resilient, highly-available, scalable, and performant for its user base. You should be comfortable working in near-start-up conditions. Key Responsibilities:

  • You will troubleshoot complex issues with clients' cloud infrastructure and applications
  • You will configure, administer, and optimize cloud-native environments
  • Use infrastructure and application performance monitoring, centralized logging, and error tracking to identify and resolve complex infrastructure, application, and serverless computing issues
  • Troubleshoot API services
  • Manage and optimize immutable infrastructure using infrastructure as code and automated configuration tools
  • Perform TCO calculations and optimize cloud architecture to reduce total client spend
  • Embrace security-first, assumed breach methodologies to ensure client compliance and continuously improve client security posture
  • Utilize deployment automation from code check-in to production
  • Continuously develop technical skills to gain mastery with the established DevOps toolchain and stay current with new services and technologies
  • You will utilize your client-centric service delivery skillset that includes prompt and professional communication, fostering a strong, collaborative relationship with clients
  • Ensure that Incident policies are followed throughout the entire lifecycle of the issue
  • You will convey highly complex concepts in an intelligent and succinct way
  • You will mentor associate level team members
  • Participate in an on-call rotation during which you will be called upon to work off-hours to support client escalations
  • Contribute to an internal knowledge base as required

Required Skills:

  • We seek a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent work and/or military experience
  • We seek a minimum of 3+ years' experience deploying infrastructure and code changes using DevOps solutions
  • We seek 3+ years' experience with code repository management, code merge and quality checks, continuous integration, and automated deployment/management using tools like Jenkins, Git, Jinja, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Packer, or comparable tools
  • You have previous programming/scripting with Python, PowerShell, & Bash
  • You possess prior experience managing full 3 tier application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment
  • Experience with system monitoring and analytics platforms, e.g. Nagios, NetXMS, DataDog, New Relic, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Solid understanding of AWS services, other providers a plus
  • AWS Professional level certification
  • You are Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent Linux administration skillset
  • We seek experience with centralized logging platforms, e.g. Graylog, ELK, SumoLogic
  • We seek experience with software containers and related technologies, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, ECS, EKS
  • You have experience with load balancing and reverse proxy technologies
  • You have experience with configuring, administering, and troubleshooting applications and infrastructure in an enterprise environment
  • We seek knowledge of networking and application protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
  • You have a basic understanding of PCI, SOC2, and HIPAA compliance standards
