The PLC Controls Engineer implements controls projects for an integrated system or sub-system. They provide planning, reporting and management of the electrical project, in addition to technical implementation. The PLC Controls Engineer takes full ownership of their project elements and executes individual tasks throughout the project life cycle by coordinating with other resources in-house and on site. The Engineer takes a systems approach in understanding core design features, project elements, overall electrical architecture and manages the scope, budget (OA's, CO's), schedule, maintaining internal and external customer expectations throughout the project life cycle. Other duties include:
Attending weekly team meetings: review scheduled tasks/timelines Contributes to test plans (Internal, In-House, Site, Commissioning, and Acceptance).
Assiting in the review of customer SOW/RFP/RFQ and specifications as requested.
Attending PLC software related pricing, concept, customer review meetings, project related turnover meetings and functional design reviews as requested
Assisting in the proposal review and C&E requirements specification/gap list.
Fully understanding scope, budgets, and schedules for the project.
Reviewing initial project schedule and identify gaps or changes needed.
Documenting and communicating overall system level concerns or question
Help with the scheduling and performing of PLC Code reviews, audits and with any in-house testing and emulation
Coordinating with PLC Controls Principal Engineer and PLC project lead to determine base code version, and develops project code, configures, and sets up logic (Includes Screens, Reports, HMI, etc...).
Maintaining and tracking issues list, reporting to Supervisor / Manager as required.
Executing all test plans on-site, providing site/field reports daily, including progress, issues, and next steps, as requested.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
