A leading manufacturer of automotive components is looking for an Electroplating Engineer to lead process improvement, problem solving, new product development, maintenance and production support projects at their large plant near Fort Madison, IA. The Electroplating Engineer will spend much of his or her time on the production floor. A technical BS degree from an accredited university is required, along with 2 years of hands-on electroplating experience. A degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred. Knowledge and experience with nickel and zinc electroplating processes, including waste water treatment, is required. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, advanced statistics or statistically designed experiments is preferred.
The Electroplating Engineer will be heavily involved in developing and maintaining Work Instructions, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP and PFMEA documents, and he or she is expected to participate and lead 8D investigations.
