The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor for the Department of Plastic Surgery. Recently ranked by US News and World Report as the top Plastic Surgery training program in the nation, the Department is recognized for excellence in clinical care, graduate medical education, clinical and translational research.

This is an exciting time at UT Southwestern Medical Center. UTSW is a premier academic institution, which counts amongst its faculty 6 Nobel Laureates, 21 members of the National Academy of Sciences, and 19 members of the Institute of Medicine. The institution has just completed its first phase of clinical expansion by opening Clements University Hospital and plans further expansion of its health care system in order to support its combined mission of excellence in clinical care, research, and education. The Department of Plastic Surgery will play a critical role in realizing the opportunities within this institutions current and future growth.

Applicant must have an interest research and hand plastic surgery. Specific duties include growing an active clinical practice at UT Southwestern, Parkland and VA Hospital. The applicant will also be expected to develop an active research portfolio in the area of peripheral nerve. Other responsibilities include independently operating, staffing of residents in major reconstructive surgical procedures, participate in didactic sessions, seminars and rounds with plastic surgery residents and development of an academic practice. Candidates must have an MD or M.D. /Ph.D., must be board certified or board eligible in Plastic Surgery and be eligible for Texas medical licensure.
