Key player in a smaller plant responsible for orchestrating the transition from traditional seat-of-the-pants QC program to a more progressive QA effort: developing KPI?s, establishing a corrective action program, preparing for SQF certification, supplier approval, managing food safety audits, HACCP, GMP, etc. Excellent opportunity for self-motivated individual eager to show the world what they can do.
Facility is in the early stages of cultural transition to a more engaged workforce focusing on continuous improvement and using data to make decisions. Position reports directly to Plant Manager and will have a lot of latitude in developing the function. Production volume is slated to double within 2 years.
In addition to a technical degree, experience in a prepared meat/poultry production facility and a tangible track record of delivering improvements in quality, food safety, and efficiency is mandatory. An understanding of SQF implementation and SPC is desirable.
