Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies, USA, LLC, a Tier-1 automotive supplier in Fort Wayne, Indiana, seeks a Plant Production Control & Logistics (PC&L) Manager to supervise logistics activities and deploy PC&L policy in a benchmark Just-in-Time (JIT) production plant. Responsibilities are in a fast-paced production plant dedicated to multiple multi-year customer programs, with 24/6 responsibility as needed.
lead JIT plant PC&L performance improvements, with emphasis on internal production control, and additional focus on the following PC&L deliverables: safety and ergonomics; stock level optimizations (lead time reduction); logistic costs and productivity; customer service; and inventory accuracy; supervise the deployment of lean manufacturing techniques throughout JIT plant; oversee PC&L training (including SAP processes for logistics, inventory, and OEM electronic messaging) throughout JIT facility; analyze plant performance levels, anticipate improvement opportunities, and implement plant-wide corrective PC&L actions to minimize risk of inadequate performance; manage plant-wide departmental exchanges to benefit from lessons learned relating to engineering changes, management of shipping container flow, consolidation of supplier shipments, and transportation cost reduction; develop templates for escalation process in areas of shipping, receiving, material storage, and inventory, and train PC&L team on system processes; analyze requirements for multi-million dollar manufacturing programs to define PC&L processes, to include definition of plant floor layout, equipment use, material flow, container requirements, and inventory control; train Master Scheduler, and develop Master Scheduling Plan.
Minimum education and experience required:
Master degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering, or foreign equivalent, and 3 years’ experience in a logistics and supply chain position with a Tier-1 automotive supplier, or Bachelor degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering, or foreign equivalent, and 5 years’ experience in a logistics and supply chain position with a Tier-1 automotive supplier. Special skills required: Must have 1 year of work experience in each of the following: leading PC&L turnaround activities to improve plant performance; coordinating material purchasing with production timeline to ensure compliance with stock targets and logistic costs; defining PC&L templates for shipping, receiving, material storage, and inventory; evaluating materials requirement planning activities to ensure production continuity, while monitoring and assessing that supply inventories are at optimal levels; formulating JIT sequencing, plant floor layout, delivery schedules, workflow, and production planning schedules for launch of multi-million dollar vehicle component program; training PC&L team members in the use SAP procedures for logistics, inventory, and OEM electronic messaging; coordinating PC&L process for engineering changes. Experience may be acquired concurrently.
