PLANT MANAGER
Ideal situation; privately held, 70 yr old company with solid core values. Company has been very consistent over the years and has a handful of plants across the US. They have never stopped advancing packaging technology and are the leader in developing a broad array of packaging styles, each designed to meet a specific market need.
This is an opportunity to step into a smoothly running, fast-paced packaging operation and continue to refine operational results. Although this is the smallest plant in the company it is a very solid contributor and is considered to be a state of the art facility. The site is a medium size, non union plant of 150+ employees that has some of the most modern equipment in the industry and is SQF Level 3 certified. While there are no major problems, it is imperative that the individual is able to continue to improve operationalefficiency/productivity and further develop the workforce. The manager must be charismatic and approachable, with a high energy level, ready to show the world what they are capable of. They must have a passion for continuous improvement and a history of getting results. They need to be familiar with automated packaging operations, comfortable out on the floor and have experience utilizing SAP.
As the result of a recent promotion, an upcoming retirement and lack of talent ready to step into the role, the company now needs a pro to provide the vision and leadership for the facility. This is a fast paced environment in an organization with a minimum of red tape so the person will have a good deal of latitude/autonomy in doing what needs to be done. For the successful individual there will be opportunities to grow to a larger facility or possibly elsewhere within the organization.
Requirements include:
- At least 10 years managing multiple functional departments in an automated food, beverage or CPG packaging operation.
- A track record of training and developing subordinates to more fully utilize their capabilities.
- BA/BS in a technical (preferred) discipline.
- A consistent, demonstrated track record of improving operations through identifying opportunities and executing strategies to improve.
- Leadership experience in a union-free environment.
