The Plant Manager’s role is to direct manufacturing operations through a team of functional managers and front line supervisors. Ensuring increased levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines. Also, directs and coordinates activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
Manage policy deployment (lean techniques, quality cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, plant performance)
Provide leadership through effective communications, coaching, training an development
Ensure compliance with company standards (cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, on-time delivery)
Manage manpower requirements to budget and company policies
Performs various related duties as assigned by management
Technical skills in lean manufacturing techniques, Kaizen, process improvement and Six Sigma principles
Leadership in a manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
Proven problem solving skills
Multi-tasking successfully; ability to deal with a variety of tasks with varying degrees of severity.
Business office software, internet knowledge
Knowledge/experience with PLEX environment helpful
