Job Responsibilities:

Summary/Objective

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing operations and maintaining equipment and the facility of NARSTCO’s automated Turnout Production plant in Cedar Hill, TX; oversee production and ensure efficiency, quality control, safety and other standards are being met; enforce established standards, policies and protocols for practices within the production process; coordinate with sales and oversee production schedule and production goals; schedule and manage employees, coach employees, administer corrective action as necessary and oversee training and performance evaluations; manage workload and prioritize projects; coordinate with shipping for receiving and finished product shipment schedules and delivery;

Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment as well as maintain plant facilities. In addition, the Plant Manager may take on the responsibility of organizing Production Engineering workload by scheduling projects and workflow for Project Engineers.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair of machines to decrease and/or avoid downtime and delays, ensure production process and machinery are in compliance with customer requirements and professional safety standards;

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by partnering with maintenance department and vendor/contractors to coordinate preventive maintenance requirements on PLC’s, CPU’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, production machines, mechanical presses etc.; following technical drawings and documentation to include programs, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions;

• Oversee day to day production schedules, operational and plant activities;

• Adjust schedules, obtain materials, maintain equipment and improve product flow;

• Track, analyze, forecast and report on budgets and goals;

• Oversee department operations and staffing to reach production deadlines;

• Review engineering recommended process changes to ensure process is appropriate with operating goals;

• Develop new and enhance existing management systems and procedures to quantify and compare operating performance with established standards and assures compliance;

• Assure raw material and product inventories are in compliance with established minimum specifications;

• Ensure consistency of operation, application of policies/procedures and accountability across all shifts for employees working within the plant;

• Train and oversee staff, including in safety and regulatory compliance;

• Manage the selection, training and development of production staff;

• Provide outage planning and support for planned shutdowns,

• Review and interpret plans and specifications and recommend modifications;

• Work with logistics to establish raw material receivable needs and finished product shipment targets and deliverables;

• Coordinate and conduct quality improvement efforts;

• Coach employees on performance issues and conduct corrective action as necessary as it relates to performance, attendance, safety, quality, production or other forms of conduct;

• Manage attendance and track performance issues for turnout product operations;

• Schedule, approve and track attendance for Industrial Maintenance Mechanics;

• Assists other departments in accomplishment of NARSTCO needs/goals;

• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations;

• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards;

• Develop and train on standard operating procedures and instructional material and manuals;

Exercise the utmost degree of integrity, honesty, good faith and fidelity to the Company, in dealing with the Company and with its customers, employees, suppliers and other public entities;

• Provide other reasonable services as the Company may request from time to time.

Job Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering and or Business Management with 5 years of plant process experience to include industrial or 10 years’ equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree

• High proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and other manufacturing process programs

• Knowledge and experience in Solid Works programming design

• Experience with Lean manufacturing and 5S

• Knowledge and experience in efficient and deliverable manufacturing process flow operations and project management

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to work as part of a team

• Experience and familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within machinery maintenance and repair coordination

• Electrical, AC and DC, Robotics, PLC, HMI, VFD, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic troubleshootingexperiencerequired

• Knowledge and consistently comply with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures

• Must be able to respond to off hour emergencies
