Your primary function is to plan, review, coordinate and lead operational activities for the Manchester, CT facility. You are responsible for ensuring effectiveness, while developing and implementing strategies for continuous improvement where necessary. In addition, you will ensure timely delivery of a quality product, in quantities that meet sales demand and at a cost that ensures profitability and growth consistent with ITW corporate and division objectives.


Oversee manufacturing, purchasing, warehouse, shipping & receiving, facilities, customer service and maintenance functions for a ~100 employees.

  • Ensures employee safety and welfare is #1 priority and this mindset is embedded in our culture (puts employees ahead of all other goals).
  • Understand and implement the ITW toolbox philosophies and practices in operations, on products and inventory as well as administrative functions across all areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for contributing to the development and coordinating the implementation of annual and long-range business plans to generate required operational margins and return on investment.
  • Ensure operations management team prepares and implements a manufacturing plan which supports the division's short term and long-term goals. Plan will include specific capital (building, machine, etc.), staffing, training, materials and systems.
  • Monitor the performance of key managers and instills a culture of accountability. Provides leadership which encourage excellence, teamwork, and employee development. Communicate periodically with all teams to nurture morale and improve site performance.
  • Responsible for compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws and programs, ITW diversity policy, health and safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA).
  • Manage safety commitment and embraces best practice in the facility.
  • Responsible for ensuring that operating standards, systems and procedures are in place to control product quality and to maintain levels of supply chain security to meet customer requirements and in order to meet external standards such as ISO, as deemed appropriate.
  • Occasional travel of a domestic and international nature may be required (approximately 10-15%).
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution

Minimum 7 years of related progressive operations management experience in a plant/manufacturing/operational role.

Minimum 4 years supervisory/management leadership experience.

Minimum of 2 years process manufacturing experience which includes hands-on experience in related departments in the production process (inventory, shipping, quality, etc.).

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Masters' Degree (MBA) in Engineering, Business, Operations from an accredited institution

Knowledge of accounting, QA and QC systems.


Leadership- ability to lead a team and hold direct reports accountable for results, take charge, catalyst of change, drives results through people, and offers guidance and direction.

Administration and Management- knowledge of computer systems (MS suite), business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, human resources practices, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.

Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Communication skills. Ability to verbally communicate information and provide written facts/details through formal channels of communication (email, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.).

Critical Thinking — using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to resolve problems.

Monitoring / Mentoring —evaluating and assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Provide feedback, coaching and mentoring to improve performance and develop employees.
