We are looking for a Plant Manager that is comfortable with the fast-paced demands of a multi shift food manufacturing facility and can communicate and collaborate comfortably with their team along with all other areas of the company. We are looking for a candidate that will oversees management of all areas of manufacturing including, but not limited to, production, maintenance, quality, warehousing and sanitation. The successful candidate will be focused on safety, food safety, quality, waste reduction and operational improvement. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating activities to ensure products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.
•Fosters an environment based on food safety and employee awareness above all else.
•Ensures highest quality standards are maintained to meet internal and external customerrequirements as well as compliance with current federal, state and local regulations, including the FDA and USDA.
•Using Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to achieve optimum productivity and cost reduction in accordance with company goals and targets.
•Ability to analyze data from multiple sources to develop, implement and manage action plans
•Responsible to oversee the implementation of corrective action process (CAR) when necessary. Verify actions are taken on a timely basis, to ensure people safety, food safety, customer quality standards, equipment reliability and productivity is maintained.
•Evaluate, develop, and mentor staff in a team management approach
•Develop a proactive environment across functional departments to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with good manufacturing and food safety practices.
•Formulate standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
•Identify, initiate and coordinate capital projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of equipment, major repairs, etc.). Provide cost justification (ROI) for all material capital and non-capital expenditures.
•Acts as a liaison between the plant and corporate functional departmental heads within the organization
•Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
•10+ years of proven managerial work experience in food manufacturingoperations
•BA/BS in industrial, mechanical or business administration, or a 4-yeartechnicaldegree in related discipline.
•Proven track record of safety, food safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
•Understanding of basic business management principles (strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation)
•Strong people management skills, team building and problem solving
•Preferred experience with SharePoint, Tabware, ADP, ZPi and Pointman ERP systems
•Microsoft Suite – High Proficiency in Excel
