As one of the fastest-growing warehousing and logistics companies in North America, we’re looking for an experienced PLANT MANAGER.

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, highly disciplined and high-energy individual to lead the team as the Plant Manager. We are looking for a professional with extensive knowledge to oversee all plant operations and make crucial decisions for the company. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with responsibility for all financial aspects of plant operations and have a familiarity with the automotive industry.

REQUIREMENTS:

•Reports to the Director of Operations
•Create direction for departments by having daily and weekly meetings with the direct reports
•Maintain and improve employee morale by facilitating team building and communication within departments
•Communicate with our corporate resources
•Assist in interviewing and will be part of making final hiring decisions
•Appraises employees productivity and efficiency and recommends promotions
•Develops and manages operations budgets to ensure compliance with the company and the customer
•Responsible for continuous improvement
•Promote and maintain a safe working environment
•Enforce company policies/procedures and corresponding work instructions
•Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
•Oversees all departments on a daily basis and will make the final decisions regarding any type of serious issue
•Make financial decisions by determining the number of hourly and salary personnel according to the needs of the business
•Will make recommendations for promotions
•Will make all financial decisions
•Directs all departments and determines the number of employees needed
•May have to stand for the majority of time and, be able to work around warehouse noise and adjust to warehouse temperature
•May be required to work on a computer for extended periods of time
•Must be able to perform work duties in a fast-paced, shared environment
•Additional duties may be assigned as needed

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    •Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in plant management level, material logistics and manufacturing
    •General understanding of problem solving using root cause analysis, safety, labor relations, and worker’s compensation
    •Working knowledge of value added subassembly
    •Understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles
    •Automotive background preferred, specifically with experience related sequencing, JIT and subassembly
    •Strong skills in managing salaried and hourly employees and processes
    •Strong customer interfacing skills, 24/7 availability via cell phone
    •Strong experience in launching operations and start up projects
    •Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment

    The ideal candidate MUST be able to demonstrate the following:

    1. Manage the facility ensuring proper receipt, coordination and safety of goods coming through the warehouse
    2. Ensure that orders arrive and are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities
    3. Familiarity with a variety of the business’ concepts, practices, and procedures to include assembly of automotive parts on an assembly line
    4. Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
    5. Lead and direct the work of salary direct reports and hourly workforce
