Your challenge!

Cascades Sonoco inc., Tacoma division is looking for a leader that would be able to provide strategic direction to the site, empower the team to meet company objectives and service customers both internally and externally. This individual should have a strong focus on safety and operational effeciency while ensuring the engagement of all employees at all levels.

Job Responsibilities

This position requires:

  • To provide strategic direction for the site
  • Responsibility to provide leadership and engagement for the safety and health of the workforce
  • Responsibility for the compliance of company standards and all government regulations.
  • Leadership and development of key resources along with engagement of workforce
  • Compliance to and meeting Company objectives and standards

Business Objectives Alignment

Develop and implement a business strategy for his unit in line with his business unit’s vision

Operational Excellence

Develop good relationships with business partners

Ensure that standardized best practices are implemented in all areas of activity

Maximize his unit’s operational efficiency (and sales, if applicable) and optimize resources

Establish a continuous improvement structure in his unit

Provide sound financial management and maximize the return on assets under his responsibility

Human Resources

Build a team of competent and dedicated people whose skills complement one another

Manage and engage his staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy

Health & Safety

Accept the full responsibility that comes with his position in line with Cascades’ OSH requirements

Identify the unit’s OSH priorities in line with corporate objectives and follow up on them

Insist on and create a safe and healthy work environment for all his unit staff

Promote sound occupational health and safety management

Personally commit to and display strong leadership in health and safety

Corporate Responsibility and Governance

Ensure the sustainable and responsible development of the unit

Insist on ethical conduct and uphold the values underlying Cascades’ corporate culture

Help build and maintain business relationships with his unit’s clients

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations Management

Desired experience

The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of manufacturing and supervisory experience in a similar position

Progressive growth in the field with development in leadership and supervisory skills

Preferred paper industry knowledge and or Converting

Ability to lead and create teams

Technical competencies

Strong Computer skills in Microsoft programs, Share Point, etc.

SAP and MES systems

Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate
