Banner Engineering is looking for a talented Plant Manager to oversee the operations at our Distribution & Production facility in Plymouth, MN. The person who takes on this role will manage and direct the production and warehouse operations, and ensure that our products are manufactured in a safe environment to meet or exceed our quality expectations. This hands-on position will be primarily first shift (Monday through Friday), but will have responsibility for second and third shifts as well.

Responsibilities Include

  • Monitor overall plant performance for quality and production standards
  • Direct and manage Banner’s US product distribution operations, including SMT production, final assembly prototyping, and warehousing areas; you’ll also be responsible for trade compliance and import / export functions, as well as our transportation and logistics personnel
  • Direct and coordinate all production, warehousing, and shipping & receiving functions at the plant level, and maintain an adequate workforce
  • Provide the leadership, direction, coaching, mentoring and development necessary to ensure a high-performing team; conduct staff level performance reviews, and provide feedback to employees as needed
  • Foster an inclusive environment at this multicultural facility; focus on team work and communication to ensure all members are treated with dignity and respect
  • Monitor and review performance daily to ensure productivity goals are met
  • Work closely with support staff to resolve customer issues
  • Effectively communicate company and plant information with employees
  • Determine and implement improvements in production processes using Lean and 5S practices; plan, lead and implement Kaizen activities throughout the plant
  • Develop and implement solutions to manage and reduce production and distribution costs
  • Resolve employee- and equipment-related issues
  • Encourage and promote an atmosphere in which employees feel comfortable offering suggestions for improvement
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA and safety regulations
  • Coordinate with our Facilities Manager on all facility maintenance activities




• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in engineering, manufacturing, operations or a similar field)

• 10+ years of relevant plant management experience

• Proven track record in manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment

• Knowledge of business and leadership principles and practices, as well as strategic planning

• Proven ability to consistently lead and influence others to take positive action

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Able to make sound decisions to keep the facility operating safely and efficiently, and demonstrated problem-solving skills

• Knowledge, implementation and application of Lean principles

• Experience and understanding of import / export laws


• Experience in the Industrial Automation industry
