Identify, recommend, and implement improvements in plant performance to optimize product volume, yields, and quality of rubber and specialty carbons, activated carbons, inkjet colorants, cesium formate drilling fluids, fumed silica, and aerogel & elastomer composites.
RELOCATION TO NORTH CAROLINA REQUIRED
*** Assist in design, procurement, and installation of new equipment.
*** Execute predictive maintenance programs and monitor condition of plant equipment to maximize safety & reliability and reduce downtime.
*** Develop Standard Operating Procedures for process and equipment operation. Support and implement new product and process runs and prepare relevant documentation.
*** Utilize statistical techniques to improve process capability and implement equipment modifications, upgrades, and process improvements.
***Support site mechanical integrity program: investigate equipment problems and eliminate recurrence of failures; and review preventive maintenance plans to ensure optimum scheduling.
*** Regularly update Plant Production Reports.
*** Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers, after-market suppliers, and outside repair shops to repair stationary and rotating equipment.
*** Conduct 'end-of-life' assessments, equipment repairs, and replacements.
*** Serve in a Process Safety Management (PSM) role at the plant: evaluate manufacturing process-related risks and incidents; participate in Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) for key production and capital projects; ensure all product and process changes are implemented in line with appropriate Management of Change (MOC) principles; and train manufacturing personnel in relevant manufacturing processes.
***Work with Plant Finance Manager to identify cost reduction opportunities.
*** Provide subject matter expertise in Chemical Manufacturing related processes and product technology; engineering principles; mechanical and instrumentation systems; calibration and maintenance; and similar.
