Description

Manage maintenance staff, equipment, repairs, facilities, grounds, failure analysis, forklifts, and production lines for a food processing plant in accordance with proper engineering, environmental, and safety standards.

 

*** Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and within operational tolerances.

 

*** Identify plant facilities and equipment in need of additional work and improvement, including pneumatics, hydraulics, programmable logic controllers, AC and DC motors and drives, piping, welding, machining, plant and equipment electrical systems, mechanical systems, production lines, facilities power systems, boilers with natural gas, multiple independent ammonia refrigeration systems, and compressed air and hot water systems.

 

*** Measure variances to standards, identify out of control variances, investigate reasons, suggest solutions, install and follow up.

 

*** Schedule inspections and repairs in coordination with operating activities.

 

*** Coordinate outside contractors performing maintenance and repair work.

 

*** Ensure maintenance activities are compliant with building codes, safety and environmental requirements.

 

*** Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.

 

*** Participate in initiation phase of new product lines to assist in design for cost-effective manufacturing.

 

*** Manage maintenance budget and overtime, and assist plant cost reduction goals.

 

*** Assess continuous training needs for maintenance employees to ensure all employees are knowledgeable of governmental, corporate, and plant policies, and that adherence is enforced.
