The Plant Controller is responsible for developing and maintaining policies and procedures applicable to the financial operations of the plant in the areas of standard costs, expense budgets, profit planning, forecasting and appropriations.
Responsible for the areas of costs and budgets through the review of operations and the criteria used for developing cost standards and expense budgets to establish an acceptable base for measuring product cost, expense control and plant performance. Reviews expense budgets, profit plans and forecasts by analyzing financial data to develop aligned financial operating plans. Measures monthly operating performances against approved goals and objectives by analyzing financial data to develop aligned operating plans. Assists in the preparation of appropriation requests and the justifications of the same for capital expenditures to ensure that the funds are being requested in accordance with corporate guidelines. Coordinates activities to ensure that all schedules are prepared on an accurate and timely basis. Under the directions of the Plant Manager and Division Controller, is responsible for preparation of financial statements. Prepares and audits monthly budget analysis. Oversees monthly financial closings. Ensures that all schedules and reports that are due within the plant, division, and corporate headquarters and to internal and external auditors are accurate and prepared on a timely basis. Reviews the job performance of each subordinate so that employee training and development may be utilized per Company policy. From time to time, will review plant procedures to determine cost saving effectiveness of meeting plant goals. Any and all other duties assigned by manager.
Bachelor's Degree with Major in Accounting (MBA/CA./CGA/CMA). 10+ years accounting and financial experience with heavy emphasis in cost accounting. 5+ years automotive
