Duties & Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer of BILSTEIN COLD ROLLED STEEL and in conformance with Corporate and BCRS policies and procedures, the Plant Controller directs the financial control and accounting activities of BCRS to assure accurate and timely preparation, recording, transmission, analysis and communication of data necessary to control operations and achieve Company objectives. The Plant Controller also provides analysis, counsel, advice and recommendations to help plant management make operating decisions to reduce costs, improve profits and return on investment. Goals of the Plant Controller are integrity of BCRS financial information, process improvement and consistent communication of financial information.

o  Responsible for performing month-end close procedures and preparing monthly financial results, including reporting on key metrics.

o  Prepares periodic financial control reports such as inventoryreports and scrap accounting, equipment performance, etc. to help monitor BCRS?s performance.

o  Prepares annual budgets and cost projections, quarterly forecasts and ad hoc outlooks/firm-ups, forecasts and otherreports as needed.

o  Establishes and maintains all plant level inventory accounting controls and develops special programs such as daily reports on an exception basis to correct problem situations.

o  Serves as the finance coordinator responsible for physical inventories. Analyzes repots for variance problems, physical to book inventory variations and takes corrective action.

o  Advises and assists responsible line supervision to achieve desired results.

o  Assists in preparation/review of financial justifications, tracking and reporting for BCRS capital projects.

o  Performs balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.

o  Reviews payroll analysis and ensures applicable payroll controls are in in place.

o  Ensures adherence to BCRS?s accounting/internal control procedures, including HGB and U.S. GAAP.

o  Analyzes plant operating costs in detail and partners with plant operations leaders to develop actions to increase profitability and enhance long-term return on investment.

o  Oversees Accounts Receivables functions and communicates with management and sales team.

o  Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns, taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.

o  Delivers all necessary information required by tax advisor and other government institutions, including all reporting requirements.

o  Monitors Company credit score and helps improve it.

o  Supports Chief Financial Officer in all insurance needs.

o  All duties and responsibilities to be performed in adherence to all Federal, State and Local regulations.

o  Performs special studies and analyses at request of management.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position manages all employees of the accounting and controlling department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Travel:

Minimal travel is required. Occasional international travel is expected.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance; master?s degree and/or CPA designation preferred
  • 5+ years as plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment, managing a staff, with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate, motivate and partner with business operation leaders and accounting/controlling team.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and U.S. GAAPrequired, HGB knowledge helpful.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft office, Excel in particular.
  • ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP.
