Job Summary

Lead team of planning and procurement professionals to manage all supply chain aspects of demand planning, procurement, inventory and distribution activities in the S&OP process. Will be accountable for leading the S&OP and Procurement processes to meet and exceed customer requirements and business expectations across a 12 month horizon.
Serve as key Supply Chain representative on all Customer /Sales issues. Work closely with Sales team, Customers, and Suppliers to identify and resolve root cause of supply chain issues. Lead local Purchasing and Planning as well as cross functional teams to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Supply Chain. Drive and influence timely decision making to support Senior Leadership. Hold self and team accountable for timely execution of operational goals and objectives.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

Own, lead and support the monthly S&OP process efforts the selected site

Using the demand forecast, determine replenishment plans supporting key product lines and/or customer segments

Determines best processes to keep the supply chain efficient by removing barriers from beginning of order until payment is cleared. Authority to commit significant VWR resource on behalf of company.

Lead inventory planning activities including, but not limited to, ownership and maintenance of supply planning models and/or ERP planning system.

Lead the team managing all purchase orders from inception through receiving and payment.

Determines best processes to keep the supply chain efficient by removing barriers from beginning of order until payment is cleared. Authority to commit significant VWR resource on behalf of company. Closely monitors variability.

Applies appropriate mathematical and statistical tools to resolve complex business issues.

Assesses network constraint issues, makes recommendations to reduce or eliminate constraints to leadership team and key stakeholders.

Analyzes trends in Key Performance Indicators; allocates department resources to drive continuous improvement. Drives process standardization.

Closely manages all relevant supply chain cost to maximize working capital. Proactively addresses dead and excess inventory and quarterly returns to suppliers.

Negotiates resolution in best interest of VWR.

Manages the predicted impact of new product launches, product promotions, discontinuations and new vendor on boards.

Analyzes Electronic data to and from suppliers making adjustments systematically or in processes to prevent fallout of data

Active mentoring, training and development, and performance management of direct reports.

Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

BS degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field ; MBA a plus

APICS/CPIM certification desirable

8+ Years of broad Supply Chain experience; 3 years leadership experience.

Global Supply Chain experience highly desirable

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

Understanding of forecast and replenishment theory, obtained through APICS or similar training coursework.

Solid written and verbal communication skills, experience in a matrix environment desirable.

Strong analytical skills

Formal problem solving training desirable, i.e. Six Sigma

Proficiency in MS office suite (Excel, Access, Word)

Expert knowledge and practical use of Forecasting and Inventory Planning tools; i.e. Logility, SAP, or equivalent.
