We are currently looking for a Piping Designer in our Charlotte office who has experience with Chemical, Power and/or Industrial projects.  The incumbent must have experience in equipment arrangements, piping, and supports.  Field pipe routing layout ability is also required.  Reports to the Manager of the Mechanical Group.  Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Develop equipment arrangement plans and details for new and retrofit plant processes

  • Design process and utility piping systems and supports

  • Use ASME B31.1 and 31.3 piping in performing design

  • 3D modeling and Orthographic and Isometric drawing skills are required

  • Designing piping systems and creating drawings using 2D AutoCAD MEP and 3D CADWorx software

  • Inventor, and Microstation skills are a plus

  • Work with the lead engineer to design equipment layout and piping systems

Skills & Qualifications:


  • 5 plus years experience

  • Experience in Chemical, Power, or Industrial mechanical equipment

  • Meeting project budgets and schedules

  • Responsible for assuring a cohesive design in accordance with P&ID's, piping specifications, OBG standards and other project documentation.
