Pipeline and Utility Infrastructure Market Leader

Description

Brown and Caldwell is currently seeking a Pipeline and Utility Infrastructure Market Leader with an interest and familiarity with water and wastewater conveyance and wet weather planning.  Candidate will utilize consulting expertise to set the strategic direction for the Infrastructure Practice, manage and execute work on project and to help ensure successful client relationships and pursue business development opportunities.  The successful candidate will oversee and manage the Infrastructure Practice in either our Seattle, Tacoma or Olympia offices.  This person will also work closely with strong technical experts and other leaders in the Washington Operations, NW Region, and nationally across the company.

Job Expectations:

  • Provide leadership of Infrastructure Practice, setting strategy and hiring needs to support company and northwest business goals.
  • Coordinate with other team members in Seattle and the Northwest Area on strategic goals and initiatives and manage workload planning and staffing
  • Provide leadership in obtaining and developing new key clients each year in connection with planned targets and with the assistance of other senior staff in the office and region
  • Manage and execute work on wastewater and water utilities including: comprehensive planning and infrastructure conveyance and design projects
  • Lead project team in planning and/or designing a major engineering project and coordinate special planning, economic, and engineering studies
  • Provide consultation in specialized areas (wastewater/water conveyance, master planning, wet weather), make decisions and solve problems
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings
  • Direct the work of drafters and designers, coordinate with other disciplines
  • Supervise, delegate and oversee the work of subordinate technical staff and engineers
  • Assist with and lead business development pursuits

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental, etc.)
  • M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on wastewater and water long term control planning and conveyance preferred
  • Professional registration in the State of Washington or the credentials to obtain registration in a timely manner is also required
  • Candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of increasingly-responsibleexperience with managing, mentoring and growing a profitable group or practice
  • Strong communication and management skills along with business development/marketing experience essential
  • The candidate should have the ability to successfully manage clients and projects in a collaborative fashion
  • Previous supervisory experiencepreferred
  • Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience
  • Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually are required
  • Candidate should be versatile and interested in managing, marketing, and executing on a variety projects supporting Engineering Services
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills required with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation
  • Candidate should be a self-starter, results-oriented and be able to work under tight deadlines
