The successful candidate’s experience and background should include the following:

Min 3 years of experience managing teams in the Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence domain
Min 7 years of hands on Systems Analysis and Testing experience in the Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence domain
Strong knowledge of data mapping, data modeling and testing best practices
Planning at an operational level and managing the effective use of resources
Demonstrate strong people, communication and relationship management skills
Experience working with external IT vendors in a co-sourcing model
Working knowledge of one or more Database platforms (Teradata experience preferred)
Working knowledge of Emerging Technologies like Big Data
Strong understanding of Dimensional Modeling preferred

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accountable for a team of resources who provide System Analysis and Testing on various Business Intelligence initiatives
  • Ensure our Scrum Teams are staffed appropriately with System Analysts and Testers
  • Ensure System Analysts are providing comprehensive specifications to Developers
  • Ensure test approaches are comprehensive and that teams understand how to execute on them
  • Champion the roll-out of SAFe/Agile best practices
  • Create resource/staffing plans, prioritize work, ensure team financials are in line
  • Responsible for all aspects of human resource management of staff
  • Provides and directs staff to achieve department objectives, analyze problems and provide recommendations/solutions, providing leadership and guidance to implement solutions in accordance with best practices
  • Reviews resource/staffing plans, prioritizes work and manages within established budget
  • Over time, demonstrates in depth knowledge of multiple applications, functions and technologies
  • Manages escalation of significant problems quickly and clearly and carefully makes decisions regarding risks and solutions
  • Understands the impact of changes to the system environment. Demonstrates sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are loosely defined and/or where information is available but must be further manipulated
  • Establishes effective working relationships and works with business partners to help identify issues, provide solutions and establish priorities. Contributes to the creation of an atmosphere where business partner issues are dealt with professionally and in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates a capacity to recognize value and respect differences across a diverse work force
  • Demonstrate leadership by balancing the immediate needs of current projects with a big picture focus that includes the needs of other programs, projects, teams, and strategic initiatives
  • Build and maintain the required relationships to be effective and efficient by partnering with: Architecture, Development, BA, Prod Services and our Business Partners
  • Responsible for following the approved SDLC selected for the program or project
  • Promotes Travelers IT Culture

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 3 years of technology or business related experiencerequired.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 6 years of technology or business related experiencepreferred. 1 year of experience managing others preferred.
