Maine Medical Center (MMC) is seeking a Hematologist to provide leadership for its newly re-invigorated Division of Hematology and serve at Division Director. In this role, the Director will develop and lead a highly innovative and evidenced-based Hemostasis and Thrombosis Service. The director will also have responsibility for developing inpatient benign hematology consult service, outpatient clinics devoted to benign hematology, develop a cohesive Maine Medical Partners primary care practices Anticoagulation Stewardship program in partnership with our robust hospital-based Department of Pharmacy, and oversight of our 340B Hemophilia Program. We are able to support a director with a funded research laboratory program based at the MMC Research Institute; and/or experience in clinical trials would be particularly valuable.
The candidate is expected to have completed a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology and be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both disciplines. The clinical components of the position require experience in the full range of benign hematology, and especially hemostasis and thrombosis. In addition to excellent clinical skills, the ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment in a large and dynamic health system and flagship medical center.
