Job SummaryTexas Children's Hospital is seeking a
Medical Director - NICU at The Medical Center in Houston. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a total of 173 beds, at Texas Children's Hospital is the first to be designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) as a level IV NICU, the highest level of care available for premature and critically-ill newborns.
More than 1,800 infants are cared for each year in the Texas Children's Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), making us one of the largest, most experienced NICUs in the country. We provide all services that critically ill or premature babies might need, including on-site neonatologists available 24/7, the highest level of respiratory support, advanced imaging, pediatric surgery, pediatric anesthesiology and more.
Responsibilities- Assesses, diagnoses, treats, and educates patients
- Documents information in patient's chart regarding assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education
- Records diagnosis/CPT in an accurate, timely manner to ensure prompt posting of charges per site protocol
- Provides verbal and/or written information regarding treatment regimens in language that is understandable and appropriate for the patient and/or caregiver
- Serves as a credible, knowledgeable educational resource for the patient, family, community and other healthcare professionals
- Participates in site meetings and provides input to address patient care issues or operational concerns
QualificationsBaylor College of Medicine requires all new employees to provide either proof of COVID-19 vaccination or to submit an acceptable exemption form that is medical or religious based within 60 days of hire to BCM Occupational Health.- M.D. or D.O.
- Board Certified in Pediatrics and Neonatology
- Must have or be able to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license
- Experienced leader holding a medical director title required
