Physician / Hospitalists HH at Hartford HealthCare in Hartford, CT

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, Inc. seeks three full-time Hospitalists at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT to provide comprehensive clinical care in an inpatient setting to patients with diseases and injuries, including ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting test results, ordering appropriate interventions, therapies, medications, and other treatment modalities, and establishing preventive health practices for patients. This position: collects, records, and maintains details of patients' histories, physical examinations, diagnostic test results, assessments, management plans, and treatment outcomes; delivers documentation in the written and electronic record consistent with the hospital's ongoing clinical documentation and quality metric programs; works with the emergency department physicians to assure effective communication and transition of patients to optimize their care; works with other specialty services to assure highest quality of care and consultation to and from other specialty services; works with referring physicians from the community to optimize patient care; helps to develop new and innovative systems to achieve the highest measures of quality of care and resource utilization; provides leadership in committees, task forces and other areas related to inpatient care and patient transition; attends regularly scheduled meetings and participates in ongoing discussions relating to the care of patients, hospital systems, and other activities as related to hospital medicine. Minimum requirements: possession of M.D. or its foreign equivalent; completion of three-year residency in internal medicine; board eligibility or certification in internal medicine; and the possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license.
