Sanford Clinic Vermillion is seeking a BE/BC Family w/ Sports Medicine physician to join our team in Vermillion, SD.
• Sanford in Vermillion has a service area of over 15,000 people.
• Patient panel includes routine Family Medicine as well as increased volumes of University of South Dakota (USD) population and USD Athletics.
• USD onsite clinic hours.
• 1:3 Hospital call rotation.
• The hospital is a 25-bed facility equipped with two surgery suites and two LMRP's, full-time on-site ultrasound, on-site CT, on-site MRI, 3D mammography, full-service lab, and 24-hour emergency services.
• Sanford Vermillion Medical Center also offers full-service rehabilitation services - physical, occupational and speech therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, and therapeutic recreation.
• Multiple outreach services provided by specialty physicians.

Vermillion, SD (population 11,800) is home to the University of South Dakota (USD). USD offers cultural, educational, research and athletic opportunities. The community is an excellent place to live, learn, work and raise a family. Vermillion is located close to the Missouri River and is only 55 miles from Sioux Falls.
Job Description
Family Medicine Core Privileges includes the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illness, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions and functional disorders of circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, integumentary, nervous, female reproductive, and genitourinary systems. This includes the pre-operative care of surgical patients and post-operative medical care of surgical patients and return to work issues.
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree.
Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested:
An applicant who has just completed residency shall provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable.
OR
An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. Applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under the age of 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months.
Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or he Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
