BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) cares for the province's most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. Sunny Hill Health Centre (SHHC), a leading provincial facility offering specialized services to children and youth with developmental disabilities from birth to age 19, works collaboratively with BCCH to provide acute rehabilitation services. SHHC focuses on the child and their family while supporting health care professionals in their community. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

An outstanding opportunity is available to join the Division of Developmental Pediatrics at BC Children's Hospital/Sunny Hill Health Centre and the University of British Columbia as a Physician Clinical Associate.

The Division has approximately 23 faculty members and works within a program management model at Sunny Hill Health Centre. This opportunity will provide the successful applicant with an in-depth experience with children and their families who have experienced brain injury, have complex neurodevelopmental conditions and/or require rehabilitation.

As a Physician Clinical Associate, you will be expected to work daily with the Developmental Pediatrician assigned to the pediatric inpatient rehabilitation unit and work with the inter-disciplinary team in providing evidence-based medical services to children with developmental disorders. Your role would be for the pediatric medical management of children who have been admitted to the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at SHHC. Inpatient work is assigned in weekly blocks along with daytime weekend coverage in rotation with other clinicians. No additional call time is required.

The successful candidate will have a Medical Degree and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC). This position is open to Family Physicians and General Practitioners. Experience in General Pediatrics is considered an asset. The anticipated start date is June 2024 or earlier if possible. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
