Job Description

Helen DeVos Children's Hospital has a wonderful opportunity for a BC/BE child & adolescent psychiatrist looking for an inpatient and/or outpatient practice within a premier pediatric medical facility. We offer a wide array of services throughout the continuum of care (outpatient, medical inpatient and ED consultation liaison, inpatient medical psychiatric unit), making us an ideal place for both experienced child psychiatrists and new graduates to work in their desired area of practice. We are also thrilled to be able to offer the opportunity to practice on our brand new Pediatric Medical Psychiatric Unit - the only unit of its kind in the region.

Select Features of this Position:

  • 90-minute evaluations and 30-minute follow ups for outpatient practice
  • Opportunities for inpatient practice including consultation liaison and rotation on pediatric medical floors and ED as well as on the inpatient Pediatric Medical Psychiatric Unit
  • Work with a comprehensive behavioral health care team including psychology, psychotherapy, nursing, and social work in addition to Advanced Practice Provider support.
  • Teaching opportunity with pediatric residents and medical students
  • Inpatient nighttime call and unit weekend rounding for inpatient psychiatrists for additional compensation
  • Team inbasket coverage while you're away from work! Providers rotate coverage to manage calls and refill requests while your away. Each provider staffs this service 3-4 weeks per year.
  • J1 or H1B visas support available

License - Michigan MD/DO

Certification - BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
