Job Description

Intel's Silicon Photonics Product Division SPPD is seeking a Senior Staff Development Engineer to work, leading the exploration and development of future fiber assembly technologies. As SPPD develops new products and new chip packaging/assembly approaches, this candidate will focus on the fiber and fiber attach technologies for our integrated solutions. Our work is in a collaborative environment, so this position will work with other teams and individuals to execute the development. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic matrixed organization developing building blocks, methodologies and systems for the next generation products.

Key responsibilities may include

Define, discover, develop, integrate and deploy new process and equipment solutions, and enable Intel photonics process roadmap and product portfolio. Responsible for new process development and pathfinding to deliver robust, quality, reliable, repeatable and manufacturable assembly processes. Fiber process & integration expert for Packaging and Assembly organization within SPPD. Provide process technical expertise in product development for the fabrication of components and execute seamlessly on new product introductions (NPI's) in collaboration with Development and Operations. Responsible for effective collaboration with development and operations teams. Collect benchmarking data/knowledge and ensure this information feeds into strategies, drive priorities and close gaps in performance and feed into equipment roadmaps. Advocate applying design methodologies to help execute projects effectively and successfully with high quality.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

MS with 6+ years of experience or PhD with 4+ years of experience in the Photonics/Opto-electronics field.

6+ years of experience in photonics area with fiber assembly process development and integration experience

Experience in photonic process development and integration

Experience working with Photonic product design and development in all phases from concept through manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS with 8+ years of experience or PhD with 6+ years of experience in the Photonics/Opto-electronics field

Thesis area with focus in photonics
