The 12-month program is designed to develop the resident's expertise that will enable them to practice independently and excel in clinical service, teaching and research. The program provides experiences in a variety of settings including patient-centered care and pharmacy operations, as well as the development of leadership skills applicable to many situations and practices. Residents participate in all aspects of our comprehensive pharmacy services including rounds with the medical teams, pharmacokinetic consultations, compliance with clinical pathways and protocols, anti-coagulation management, participation on the Code Blue team and participation in the education of other health-care professionals.
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
State of Tennesse Pharmacy License by residency start date.
CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALS.
