SCOPE OF POSITION
The Medication Assistance Program (MAP) Manager will be responsible for oversight of all day to day operations, and technical functions of the 340B Program, including the 340B Prime Vendor Program, recovery of eligible patient device (e.g. stent) implant, as well as the Indigent Patient Drug Recovery Program for all facilities in Mountain States Health Alliance. This position includes the development, expansion, and optimization of the patient 340B program, Indigent Patient Product Recovery Program, Premier "own use' Team Member contracts, patient bulk replacement programs, and audits of the PEA MAP/PAP program(s) in the HealthPlus & Pharmacy retail settings.

Responsibilities are for programs which promote highest quality patient care and safety and which assist the service/alliance in meeting or exceeding standards of compliance for all accrediting and regulatory bodies. These include, but are not limited to, MSHA Corporate Compliance, federal (CMS and Office of Pharmacy Affairs) mandates, TJC and Tennessee Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Preparation and maintenance of policies for all components of the 340 B Hospital Program, 340B Contract Retail Program, Premier "own use" contract Program, and Indigent Patient Product Recovery Programs(e.g. medication and stent);
- Implementing, managing, and auditing specialized split-billing software;
- Implementing, managing, and auditing retail portion of specialized split-billing software.
- Maintenance of up-to-date/current awareness of information/data about related state and federal regulatory requirements, including interpretation, dissemination and implementation of needed changes;
- Appropriate and effective supervision of functions of program specialists(s);
- Working collaboratively with appropriate care providers/team members with regard to 340 B, Indigent Patient Product Recovery medication access and Premier "own use" Team Member contracts;
- Development and provision of progress and audit reports as requested;
- Seeking information/assistance from appropriate management personnel proactively and prior to actions as appropriate.
- Development and provision of auditing PEA Map/PAP program(s) in the HealthPlus & Pharmacy retail settings
The MAP Manager will participate in the development of that portion of the budget as it relates to the 340B and Indigent Patient Product Recovery Programs. The MAP Manager must develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the business, technical and professional aspects, as well as service goals of Pharmacy Services and MSHA.

The MAP Manager will have responsibilities for effective and ethical interactions with related vendors and consultants including, but not limited to, contract issues, problem solving, and changes/updates.

The MAP Manager must possess initiative, sound judgment and high aptitude for organization and attention to detail required to execute job duties. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Excellent organization skills are necessary and actions must be proactive in focus. The desire to provide exceptional customer service is required. Above average intelligence is necessary to comprehend complex system inter-relationships and operational processes. He/she will be knowledgeable about the healthcare industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and the regulatory environment.

Job duties of this position may require access to protected patient information (PHI). The team member will be accountable for appropriate use of the record and compliance with all confidentiality and security policy and procedures related to use, access, and disclosure of PHI.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position will report to the Corporate Director of Consumer Health Services. Productive and appropriate relationships will be maintained with the following: MSHA Pharmacy Information System Administrator; MSHA Automated Dispensing Systems Administrator; Directors of Pharmacy; Site Managers; Pharmacy Operations Manager, JCMC; Materials Managers; pharmacist with chargemaster oversight; as well as Information Systems Analyst and Senior Financial Analyst assigned Pharmacy responsibilities, plus case managers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The MAP Manager must have a, B.A., or B.S. A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Science, or related field is preferred. The position requires 5 years of healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience. Additional years of experience will substitute in qualifying situations for a Master's Degree.

Must have CPhT. at time of hire or 6 months following hire date.

The candidate will have experience with pharmacy related financial reports including Pro-Formas and Cost-Benefit Analyses and is proficient in equations, pivot tables, and linked documents between Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products, PowerPoint, and Access Database programs.
