The Pharmacy Department utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model. The department has one of the most robust set of electronic clinical resources in the country and a dynamic medication safety program.

Across the Center, we review 1.5 million orders per year and dispense over three million doses of medication annually. The Pharmacy Department has more than 400 employees with approximately 200 pharmacists servicing patients in 26 pharmacy satellites, including inpatient unit-based satellites in all oncological specialties.

Memorial Sloan Kettering provides live, onsite, accredited continuing education pharmacy courses to help keep your credentials up to date. The department will also sponsor national and state membership for pharmacy organizations and appropriate off-site educational meetings. We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our main campus for the Night Shift

You are:

  • Highly motivated to work in a high volume setting.
  • Able to work well as part of a large team. Collaboration with colleagues is essential.
  • A fast learner. With new chemotherapy agents being approved every few months and new protocols opening every week you must be able to evaluate new information with speed and accuracy.

You will:

  • Be responsible for providing chemotherapy for outpatients.
  • Verify chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy orders, interpret guidelines to enter anti-emetics, premeds, and hydration orders.
  • Review protocols and fulfill all other needs of the 53rd Street chemo and floating to the retail pharmacy.
  • Be capable of preparing chemotherapy agents and investigational medications.

You need:

  • PharmD (or equivalent).
  • NY State Pharmacy license.
  • Prior hospital pharmacy experience including chemotherapy mixing (preferred).
  • Minimun of 2-3 years of experience preferably in a hosptial setting
