JOB SUMMARY: Responsible to manage the department of Pharmacy for contracted Hospitals. Will plan, organize and direct all department functions and activities. Is responsible to establish goals, objectives, standards of performance and to develop policies and procedures. Will be accountable to interpret policies, standards and regulations to personnel, patients, medical staff and the public. Maintains confidentiality when dealing with all customers. Must utilize effective problem solving skills as appropriate. Conveys enthusiasm and sincerity and promotes Avera McKennan and its services in a positive manner to all customers. Supports Avera Health/Avera McKennan through the daily application of our mission, vision, core values, and social principles while providing quality care and service to our patients, their families, co-workers, physicians, volunteers, and the communities we serve. Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Performs duties in a manner consistent with Safety Principles. Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment. May be involved on organization committees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree required.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
· Licensure or eligibility for pharmacist licensure in the state of practice required.
· Completion of Child & Dependent Adult Abuse for Iowa Mandatory Reporters course required for Iowa employees within 90 days of employment and every 5 years thereafter.
