Position Summary:Pharmacist works under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager to ensure accurate distribution and delivery of prescription and OTC medications, safe compounding practices, administration of injectable medications and immunizations, delivery of proper medication consultations and clinical services and being compliant with all federal/state regulations as well as HealthPoint internal policies and procedures. Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing day to day pharmacy operations as well as supervision of support staff.
Your contribution to the team includes:- Review and fill prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers accurately and appropriately.
- Direct and supervise pharmacy support staff engaged in mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals, as well as interacting and communicating with patients.
- Engage in clinical practice by following standing orders, exercising CDTA authority and all pertinent clinical programs/initiatives that aim at improving health and wellness of HealthPoint patients.
- Actively and efficiently support ongoing organizational focus of improving quality measures and consequently, providing better standard of care to HealthPoint patients, through engaging in pharmacy specific patient related activities/interactions as well as through an ongoing and productive collaboration and partnership with other providers.
- Oversee day to day pharmacy operations to ensure appropriate workflows and processes are being followed.
- Counsel patients and/or medical providers on drug indications or contraindications, dosage and administration, drug interactions, and side effects; provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate.
- Perform and actively engage in all current and future HealthPoint clinical programs, like patient centered anticoagulation counseling, Medication Therapy Management (MTM) patient counseling, smoking cessation counseling, administration of injections and immunizations, etc...
- Perform all CDTA and standing order related activities.
- Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance.
- Responsible for security of controlled substances and all processes related to ordering, handling, dispensing and disposal of controlled substances.
- Follow HealthPoint practices to accurately maintain pharmacy inventory including ordering and receipt of medications from wholesaler(s); maintenance of accurate on hand quantities; disposal of recalled, damaged and expired stock.
- Follow HealthPoint protocols and procedures for disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Collaborate with other providers on any pharmacy matters, act as a subject matter expert on pharmacy issues.
- Ensure completion of all HealthPoint assigned training in Compliance Manager.
- Facilitate coaching and training of new pharmacy employees.
- Participate in various training programs as needed (for example: technician, intern, resident training)
- Maintain good attendance, is punctual and works full scheduled shift as a condition of employment.

- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Perform "Pharmacy Manager" duties in the absence of Pharmacy Manager, but maintain ownership of such duties at all times.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings and participate in agency committees and task force activities as required.
Must have's you'll need to be successful:
- Bachelor's (BA/BS) in Pharmacy or PharmD from a 4-year pharmacy program.
- Maintain current license as a Pharmacist with the State of Washington Department of Health. Such license must be in good standing. Must have current BLS for Healthcare Providers, and pharmacy-based immunization delivery certification or proof of training.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common industry related journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, patients or regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information in writing or speak effectively to top management, patients, and employees. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of organization.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to make decisions when needed and partner when appropriate. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction. Ability to develop and implement action plans.
- Possesses basic operating knowledge of computers. Beginning level of Word, Outlook, Excel is required at a minimum. Must be familiar with operating a pharmacy dispensing software.
Proof of vaccination for COVID-19 is required, prior to start. HealthPoint does not accept the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as proof of vaccination. Additionally, if you work in a HealthPoint clinic, Tdap (within last 10 years) is required. Hepatitis B. is required for clinical employees with potential exposure to blood/blood products. All immunizations are a condition of employment.
