Position Summary
Pharmacists are responsible for ensuring that patients receive safe and effective medication therapy.  Provides pharmacy services to meet all patient needs including order verification, IV admixture and oversight of technician staff, working under collaborative practice agreements, patient education and coordination with specialty pharmacy..  Patient care will include oncology and ambulatory infusion services. This position will provide coverage to all oncology clinics under MultiCare Regional Cancer Center as well as support oncology research approximately 1 day/week.  

Minimum Requirements
Displays the ability to interact with staff, patients, and public in a professional manner.  Displays good supervisory skills and assists the Supervisor and Manager with departmental activities including annual and periodic reporting.  Will play an active role and assist the pharmacy department with quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, and assigned projects.  Must display extreme accuracy in mathematical calculations and dispensing activities.  Must have and be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is appropriate for the age group of patients served.  The individual must understand and demonstrate knowledge of the concept of growth and development over the life span and have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.  Must also interpret the appropriate information needed to identify the requirements of each patient relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide care for that patient group.

Education/Licenses/Certifications
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy and possess a current pharmacist license in Washington State.
Must have current CPR/BLS for Health Care Providers by the American Heart Association or by the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer.
Oncology/Infusion Center experience strongly preferred.  Hospital pharmacy experience and/or residency preferred.

This position will support Gig Harbor, Puyallup, Auburn, and Tacoma General.
