The Pharmacist is responsible for appropriate, evidence based, medication use for the institution. They ensure patients get the right medication at the right dose. Pharmacists must have a medication safety viewpoint and be in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations (TJC, BOP, CMS, etc). Pharmacists oversee the activities of pharmacy technicians. Pharmacists must engage in teaching as part of the hospital's mission.
Graduate of ACPE accredited college of pharmacy with at least a Bachelor's in Pharmacy. State of Georgia Pharmacist License or eligible for licensure. License required within 6 months of hire.
ASHP accredited residency or significant clinical experience preferred. Highly qualified candidate for this position would possess a Pharm D degree, a PGY-1 general residency, a PGY-2 specialty residency, board certification in his/her area of expertise, and pharmacy experience (2-4 years) in a hospital setting.
